Visitation Policy
  • For the well-being of patients, please limit the number of visitors to two.
  • Children over the age of 12 may visit with adult supervision. Children under the age of 12 may visit in special situations. Please talk with the nursing staff to make these arrangements.
  • Regardless of age, siblings are permitted to visit on the obstetrical floor in the evenings, but they must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times while in the Medical Center.
  • Visitor waiting rooms are located throughout the hospital. Visitors are encouraged to wait in designated areas so that the patient and staff know where to find them.
  • Visitors should use public restrooms located on each floor.
  • Visitors should bring enough resources for food or lodging because the MUSC Medical Center has no provisions to house visitors.
  • Visitors should eat only in designated dining areas. Cafeteria and vending areas are located on the first floor of the University Hospital and a cafe is located on the first floor of the Ashley River Tower.
  • MUSC reserves the right to limit or restrict visitation. If you need help, please contact the nearest Guest Relations Representative or call 843-792-6736.
  • To find out what hospital room your family member is in, you may dial MUSC Patient Information at 843-792-2300.
